You might recall my post back on May 25th about my need to lose weight.
Well, I was 166.0 then and am 158.4 now. This isn't a huge amount of weight lost, but I'm feeling pretty good about it, considering I had a surgery on June 4th and didn't get off the couch for about a week. :)
Now that I've changed my eating habits over the last few weeks and have lost some weight, it's time to add some exercise.
When I lost weight the first time (back in 2009-2010), a lot of what I did to stay active was either DVD videos, like Jillian Michaels' 30-day Shred, or just walking around the inside of the school, because it was the cooler months.
But this time, I've started this process in the summer. It's nice out! Well...hot and humid, but better than cold and snowy!
I originally thought I might do the Couch to 5K program and I think I will definitely be pulling from that.
However, the morning I decided to delve into day one of week one, I believe I had a near-death experience.
Fine, I'm exaggerating. A little bit.
But seriously...I am SOOOO out of shape. Not to mention, my ankle was aching 1/3 into the walk-jogging.
(Quick Sidenote: I tore some tendons in my ankle two years ago doing nothing athletic whatsoever. I jumped/fell through a trailer trying to save the chicken coop from rolling off. I know. I am so incredibly graceful.)
My new plan is to just plan SOMEthing every day.
It's time to stop wishing and started WORKING!!!
I personally LOVE checking things off.
So my goal will be to mark off my work out for every day, mark off my tracking goals (six of them), and make notes of things that worked well or didn't work so well.
At the end of the week, if I have checked off EVERY SINGLE STINKING BLANK. I will put $5 in a jar.
The jar will be my motivation to purchase the iPhone that I have been wanting for quite some time!!!
I'd love to save enough cash to buy whatever phone I want on March 1st, 2013, when I'm due for an upgrade.
And hopefully by the time I've got the cash saved, I'll be at my goal weight, too! Double-bonus!
