Step. Back.

So I saw this little verse on Facebook last week.  I really wish I knew where to credit it to.  If anyone knows, please comment and let me know so I can add it!  I just know that I found it on a friend's Facebook page and can't even find it tonight to try and track down the source.  :)

Okay, so anyway...back to the point of the post.

I saw this little verse on Facebook and it really has caused me to take a step back.

I hate to admit this, but a lot of the time...I am a terrible wife & mother.  Not because I don't love my husband and children, because I do.  More than life.  Not because I don't know what I SHOULD be doing.  No...I definitely know that.

But more because I stretch myself too thin.

I say yes too often.

I teach fulltime.
I basically run a fulltime photography studio.
I work parttime for my parents.

And oftentimes, I put my wifely & parenting duties to the end of the list because the other things seem so "urgent" at the time.  But the thing is...those things are the ones that move the absolute most.  Out of all of my responsibilities, those are the ones that are the most important.  Should have the highest priority.  Are the most URGENT!

Last spring, I made the commitment to only take ten sessions from August-December.  It worked out wonderfully.

I had committed to also only doing ten sessions from January-May, but have failed miserably at that.

So here's the deal...I'm going to finish out the school year (only 10 weeks left...can you believe it???) with all of the sessions I already have scheduled.  And this summer, I am going to reevaluate and make some serious changes to the business-side of my photography.

My babies are growing.

I am always tired.

I want the weekend to feel like the weekend.

Although my husband is amazing and cooks, cleans, and does laundry.  He shouldn't have to.

Missing out on moments with my family...just not worth it.

So here's to the next ten weeks!  My goal is SURVIVAL!  :)

Love and peace to all of you!  Blessings in this new week!

P.S.  I created a printable of that verse I posted above.  You can grab a copy HERE. <3
